Pietrafocaia Estate

Pietrafocaia Estate

Situated on the southwestern slope of the Montalcino hill at an altitude of approximately 460 meters lies the Pietrafocaia estate.

The Focaia vineyard, one of the estate’s most iconic crus, is a unique place where nature and time have struck a rare balance. The ancient limestone soil—formed over 50 million years ago—belongs to that elite percentage of Tuscan terrains of absolute prestige, naturally destined for viticulture of the highest excellence.

From these heights, on the clearest days, the sea reveals itself in the distance: a thread of azure that unites the land and the sky of Montalcino.

This vineyard stands out for the poverty of the soil, the presence of marl and alberese, the altitude and the constant ventilation, factors that favor quality over quantity.

The yields per vine are naturally low and the resulting grapes are concentrated, rich in aromas and substance.

Cultivated entirely in Sangiovese, in line with the most authentic Brunello tradition, Focaia gives rise to wines with an elegant and long-lived structure, characterized by ripe tannins, good acidity and a distinctive mineral profile.

Brunello di Montalcino Focaia is therefore a wine born from the harmony between land and altitude, capable of expressing the purity of its terroir in the glass: fresh, vertical and deep with mineral notes that tell the finesse and strength of one of the most suitable places in all of Tuscany.
